For those coming to the Algarve to sample the multitude of top-class golf courses, you will not be disappointed, with several fantastic courses on your doorstep. Although many visitors to the Algarve overlook the city of Faro, it is well worth a visit and makes an excellent day trip from Tavira. You can either catch a train from the town centre or rent a car and drive yourself and then spend the day shopping for souvenirs, visiting the museums or soaking up the atmosphere from a pavement cafe.
