As mentioned, there are numerous opportunities for things to do in the Algarve, depending on what you want from a holiday. Most people just want to relax and so wandering around the nearby villages looking at the arts and crafts stalls, leather shops and local musicians in the evening and sunbathing and swimming during the day, are perfect ways to spend your time in the Algarve.

However, for those who want to explore the Algarve region a bit more, going to Faro on a day excursion is a great idea as it is a lovely city with a beautiful marina and great old buildings and cultural history. Smaller towns such as Olhao and Albufeira are also home to “old towns” whilst offering top of the range shopping, beach access and sporting activities.
