As mentioned there are lots of things to do in the area, including visiting lots of small ports and fishing villages to see aspects of local cuisine and culture. You can go on lots of boat trips and even go snorkelling in the lagoon. Along the Algarve coast there are many places offering various water sports if you fancy trying something new to do. There are also a few water parks which are a great day out.

In the Algarve region, you can also visit lots of other seaside resorts or for a day-out, visit Faro, the capital city of the Algarve. Faro is very picturesque with a beautiful port area and a wonderful “old town” which has lots of winding alleys filled with typically Portuguese white houses. Faro is also a great place to find souvenirs, leather goods and jewellery as there are a range of markets there with arts and craft stores. Those looking for a great night out will also enjoy the many clubs and bars in Faro.
