Location

At just a 45 minutes drive from Faro Airport, Club Amarilis Apartments are a convenient Algarve find.

Portugal is renowned for its beautiful beaches and at just 150 metres from the hotel doors, Club Amarilis couldn’t really feel much closer to the sea. This Algarve hotel is well placed for those who want to relax on the beach in the sunshine, but who also want the freedom to explore nearby towns with ease. The town centre of Portimao is just 2 kilometres away.

Facilities

Club Amarilis Praia da Rocha has much to offer its visitors having been exclusively designed with comfort and style in mind. The hotel itself was built in 1990 but was completely renovated in 2003. There are 180 apartments in total which are spread over some 13 floors. The apartments are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, living/bedroom, a separate bedroom and kitchenette with a fridge. Tastefully furnished, the rooms also include a direct dial telephone, a safe and a satellite/cable television.

The hotel lobby has a twenty four hour reception desk as well as lift access, internet access and a currency exchange desk. There is a small supermarket, a hairdresser, games room and cocktail bar, laundry, room service, medical service, gym, tennis courts, Jacuzzi, swimming pool and childrens’ pool, terrace solarium, sauna and for those that are hiring a car, it also has a garage and car park.

Things To Do Nearby

Prai da Rocha is one of the jewels of the Algarve. It literally translates as ‘Rock Beach’ but this is a far cry from the pebbly beaches of Brighton – the rocks in the name refer to the beautiful cliffs that overlook the sandy beach, forming natural protection that makes weather conditions ideal for a number of water sports such as kayaking, jet-skiing and windsurfing – there are even plenty of opportunities to take lessons in these sports if you’re a complete beginner and as a well guarded beach, you can rest assured that the professionals will ensure your safety at all times.

With Prai da Rocha right on your doorstep, the Club Amarilis is ideally located for the many international restaurants, bars and nightlife that can be found in this wonderful Alrgarve town. If you’re looking for more things to do during the day then head towards Portimao and you’ll find there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. The Algarve is particularly rich in stunning golf courses and the Penina Golf course is widely considered by many of its previous visitors as the grandfather of golf courses with its 18-hole par 73 challenge. Portimao is also a great place to catch a group tour boat in the Marina where you can gently sail along the stunning Algarve coast in an old fashioned fishing cutter that has been restored as a tourist attraction. Some of the boat trips offer cave expeditions but there are a variety of tours available, all of which make for perfect photography opportunities and an excellent day out.
