Built in 1986 and renovated recently in 2002, the Tropimar Hotel is well equipped to ensure all of its guests enjoy a relaxing stay in the Algarve. To welcome guests on arrival there is a welcoming foyer with a reception desk, run by friendly, multi-lingual staff always ready to offer assistance and answer any queries guests might have. An in-house laundry service is available to guests, as well as a variety of leisure facilities. The hotel has spa facilities including a hot tub. There is also a delightful outdoor pool set amongst the hotel’s gardens, which is a lovely place to shake off the stresses of everyday life, and lie back to soak up the wonderful Algarve sunshine.

Recent renovation means that all rooms are pleasantly decorated, having a modern, stylish, appearance. Each room comes with a private bathroom, direct-dial telephone and central heating as standard, as well as a kitchenette with all the facilities necessary for self-catering. The hotel itself has both a bar and a restaurant, meaning there is always somewhere to buy a refreshing afternoon drink or delicious evening meal, without going too far from your apartment.

Things To Do Nearby

For those who wish to spend their holiday lounging in the sunshine and taking the occasional dip in the sea, the beach of Praia da Rocha is the best place to be. Just a short drive from the Tropimar Hotel, this beach has beautiful golden sands and crystal clear water, making it popular with many visitors to the area. For something a little quieter and secluded, the beach of Alvor is ideal. Alvor is a delightful little fishing village, and its beach offers visitors a serene spot in which to enjoy the Algarve sunshine.

For those who like to be active, Praia da Rocha beach is also the perfect place, as there is a vast array of water sports offered here, ranging from snorkelling and surfing to motor-boating and paragliding. For real water-lovers there is also the Slide and Splash water park just a 15 minute drive east of Portimao. If discovering the local culture is your thing, then Portimao is a great place to start. The yachting harbour is a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon, and as a fishing town Portimao offers some of the best seafood in the area. Alternatively, why not take a river-boat cruise in a Viking-looking boat up the river to the town of Silves?
