Eurotel Altura
The beautiful coastline of the Algarve is located at the southern end of Portugal and attracts tourists from around the world. Location
The Hotel Eurotel Altura is located within the grounds of Quinta das Oliveiras in the resort of Altura. It has great views across the countryside as well as the Atlantic. Faro Airport is a 45 minute drive away. This 4 star hotel has a great location, directly opposite the sandy beach of Altura, that can be reached via a walkway.
Altura is a small resort, close to the larger more lively resort of Montel Gordo, where the visitor will find plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and night life. This is only a short walk or drive away. This part of the Algarve is relatively low key and Altura offers the visitor a relaxing and peaceful environment. It is close to Tavira and the Ria Formosa Nattural Park, as well as the Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim. The border with Spain is only 15 minutes away.

The Hotel Eurotel Altura has excellent facilities including a large and airy restaurant, 2 bars, snack bar and coffee shop, as well as a heated indoor pool and outdoor swimming pool. There are plenty of sports facilities here such as a gym, tennis court, table tennis, billiards, darts and mini golf.

There is a complimentary bus service which runs to Tavira and the beach. The hotel’s 3 bars consist of a beach bar, snack bar overlooking the swimming pool and bar lounge. Car hire and bike hire can be arranged at the hotel. There is also a kids’ club and childrens’ play area.

Things To Do Nearby
The hotel is well situated for golfers wishing to enjoy the climate. The hotel is around 8 km from 6 excellent golf courses, including Quinta da Ria, Benamor, Castro Marim Golf, Quinta de Cima and Quinta do Vale. 4 km away is the casino where visitors can enjoy an evening out. Boat cruises run from the Guadiana River which is 8 km away. The Spanish border is only 10 km away and visitors can take a historic excursion further afield to Gibraltar or Seville, or enjoy the nearest town to the border, Ayamonte where the inviting sights and smells of many tapas bars await the visitor.
There are nature trails and bird watching spots nearby, with flamingos, avocets and storks being a common sight. There is a wide choice of restaurants in Altura, with plenty of seafood dishes and traditional Algarve cuisine. The town of Tavira has some beautiful landscapes, with orange and almond orchards as well as some fine and varied architectural styles. North of Tavira lies Cachopo with its cool cascading waterfalls amidst an utterly unspoilt and undiscovered part of the Algarve.

Previous guests enjoy the hotel’s location, being so close to the beach. For those who have a hire car, the hotel is a great base for discovering the Algarve or venturing across the border into Spain. The inland area is beautiful and peaceful, offering great views along the coast. The hotel is clean and the rooms comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is good. The gardens are well maintained and the pools are both extremely clean.
Facilities for children are very good at the hotel. The towels in the rooms are changed daily. Food in the restaurant is of a very high standard and the choice of breakfast is excellent. All the rooms face the sea and offer splendid views. The hotel is perfect for those people looking for a quiet holiday in the Algarve. Monte Gordo is within a short stroll for a livelier night life if required.
