Location
The Hotel Alcazar’s location is great for those heading to the Algarve for a beach break, as the nearby Monte Gordo beach is the longest in the Algarve, with soft white sands stretching for miles. Monte Gordo bay lies in the south east of the beautiful Algarve region and is just a few miles from the Spanish border.
The hotel lies around 100 kilometres from Faro International Airport and can organise low-cost airport transfers for guests on request. Several excellent Algarve golf courses can be found within a few kilometres of the hotel complex and there are excellent sports facilties to be found in the town of Monte Gordo. The town also boasts excellent restaurants, good shopping and nightly shows at the town’s casino.
Located in the Monte Gordo bay, in the south east of the Algarve, the hotel is situated close to beautiful countryside that is perfect terrain for nature walks, pony trekking and long bicycle rides.
Facilities
Guests at the Alcazar Hotel Portugal have a wealth of fabulous facilities at their disposal. Two outdoor swimming pools provide an opportunity to relax and keep cool, whilst a tennis court is on hand for those who like to keep active. Adults can take it easy with a drink by the poolside bar or indoors at the piano bar, while children are also well catered for thanks to a playground and games room.
Nightly entertainment is laid on for guests’ enjoyment during the summer high season and further facilities include a laundry service, well-stocked shop, coffee shop and even a disco.
The hotel consists of 119 rooms spread over eight floors. Of these, 54 of the rooms are suites sleeping up to four people. All rooms are fully air conditioned and all feature balconies (most have a sea view), satellite television,, mini-bar, private bathroom, safe, hairdryer and direct dial telephone. Many rooms have Internet access.
Things To Do Nearby
Whilst some guests prefer to spend most of their break making use of the excellent facilties at the complex itself, the Alcazar Hotel Algarve is also ideal for those who want to get out and about and explore the beautiful Algarve.
Six golf courses can be found within 15 kilometres of the hotel, including the award-winning Quinta de Cima. Big game fishing is also a popular pastime among locals and holdaymakers alike. Take a trip out to sea and try your hand at catching mighty ocean prey such as tuna, dorado and white marlins.
Watersports are also popular and equipment hire can be arranged at several spots in Monte Gordo. Snorkelling is a popular and budget-friendly activity suitable for virtually all ages. The town is also home to good sports facilities and the surrounding countryside is perfect for days out on bicycles, on foot or on horseback. Those with access to a car may want to get out and about and explore the wider Algarve, or even cross over the border into Spain for the day.

The reviewer commented that the Alcazar is a neat, pleasant hotel, ideally located for the beach as well as the commercial centre She went on the add that the food at the hotel restaurant is very good, the rooms spotless clean and that she found the staff both helpful and friendly.
Another reviewer loved the peace and quiet at the hotel. The reviewer was impressed with the hotel pool, especially the attractive pine tree area near the pool. The reviewer also enjoyed the nightly entertainment, commenting that the bar is a ‘nice environment for a relaxed drink in the evening’. Several reviewers commented that Alcazar and Monte Gordo are not suitable for a party crowd, but are ideal for a relaxed break in the Algarve.


The rooms are fantastic, more like suites. The breakfasts are awful, never seen grey scrambled eggs before, and not much choice! The pool area is very small and it is in an area that catches the wind.
