Vila Mos Lagos
The Vila Mos Hotel is situated on a hillside overlooking the beach of Porto de Mos near Lagos in the Portuguese Algarve region.
It is a four star rated complex with 75 beautifully decorated apartments which come in a range of one or two bedrooms and studio designs.
Located near the Portuguese city of Lagos, the apartment complex is not only situated in a stunning location within easy access to the beautiful beaches and Algarve cities but they are also incredibly well equipped, stylish and suitable for a complete cross-section of holidaymakers.
Location
The Vila Mos hotel and the city of Lagos itself are only around fifty five miles away from Faro Airport which is the main international airport in the Algarve and is achievable by budget airlines from many British locations. Once in the area, you are well connected to the rest of the Algarve by various bus and train routes as well as national highways if you rent a hire car.
The Vila Mos Portugal Apartments are located approximately 2km away from the city centre, so you can reach Lagos centre by foot and also visit neighbouring towns and villages by the many bus routes that run in Lagos and throughout the Algarve. As aforementioned, the apartments overlook the Porto de Mos and is only 400m from the beach.
As the apartments are also slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan city centre life, but still in walking distance of many required amenities and facilities you can both relax but enjoy the Portuguese cities when you want to. So close to both beach and city centre, the Vila Mos is the perfect base for a beach holiday or exploration of the Algarve region.
Facilities
The Vila Mos Portugal Apartments are of a very high standard and fantastically well equipped. All the modern apartments are beautifully furnished and are fitted out to your convenience with either a full kitchen or a kitchenette, air conditioning, telephone facilities and satellite TV.
All of the first and second floor apartments come with large balconies allowing you to have views of the sea, the beach and the lush vegetation of the complex. The gardens in the Vila Mos are truly beautiful and very well-maintained. There is also a huge swimming pool which is central to the complex.
Aside from the swimming pool there are communal terraces for sun bathing and garden areas for relaxing. There is a TV room within the hotel’s main reception area and a large air-conditioned restaurant serving a wealth of international cuisine. The complex is also incredibly family friendly and highchairs and baby changing services are available as are childrens’ play areas. The lobby also offers internet access and bicycles which can be hired. Car parking areas are also in the complex.
Things To Do Nearby
A winding path from the apartment area also leads down to the blue flag beach Porto de Mos where there is a restaurant and bar area. Apart from accessing this beach there are several others in the vicinity, some of which however may only be accessible by car. This area has much more to offer than beaches though, with water sports such as water-skiing, jet-skiing, PADI scuba diving lessons and banana boating all on offer along the Algarve coastline. Only ten minutes away there is also the internationally renowned golfing centre the Boa Vista Golf Course
The town of Lagos itself is definitely worth spending some time in as it is a fantastic example of Portuguese culture, with a host of museums, top of the range restaurants and beautiful lagoons and rocky cove areas. The architecture is typical of this area, and there are lots of cafes so you can sit outside and enjoy the local sea food dishes under the stars.
If you are looking for nightlife, Albufeira is fairly close and has a “strip” of bars and clubs with cheap entry prices and drinks. Faro is the region’s capital and has a wealth of beautiful Portuguese architecture typical of the Algarve region as well as a gorgeous marina area. Most of the towns in this area are similar in that they have a beautiful marina, great seafood restaurants and quaint markets.
What Have Previous Guests Said
Past reviews of the Vila Mos have been positive with comments that the hotel is very well run and the location stunning with the close vicinity to the beaches a definite plus.
Some commented that the accommodation was smaller than their expectations but this is always a matter of personal preference. Nevertheless staff service and the complex itself was highly praised for providing a fantastic experience of the Algarve.
