Location

Tivoli Lagos Hotel enjoys a fabulous location in a tranquil spot just a few minutes’ walk from the sites and facilities of the ancient town of Lagos.

Beach lovers will not be disappointed – the stunning Meia Praia Beach is 2km from the hotel, and a free bus service is laid on to transport guests to and from the Duna Beach Club, where guests can relax in the lap of luxury. The recently renovated club boasts an excellent restaurant, lively bar, plush pool, health club and good sports facilities, as well as hosting regular parties and special events.

The Algarve’s golf courses are almost as famous as its beaches, and the Tivoli Lagos Hotel is one of the best places in the Algarve for golfers looking to perfect their swing. There are five courses within 20 kilometres of the hotel – the closest being Palmares, just two kilometres from the hotel complex. Most holidaymakers arriving in the Algarve by air will land at Faro International Aiport, around one hour’s drive from the hotel.

Facilities

There’s no shortage of things to do in Portugal’s stunning, sun-kissed Algarve, but holidaymakers who like to take it easy won’t have to venture far from the Tivoli Lagos Hotel to find excellent sports and leisure facilities.

The hotel complex boasts two large outdoor pools surrounded by plentiful sun loungers, as well as an indoor pool. Guests can keep that beach body looking good with a visit to the gym or an aerobics session, or just unwind in the sauna, jacuzzi, or massage centre. There’s a solarium too, for anyone who doesn’t feel they have been sufficiently toasted by the Algarve sun! There are a total of three restaurants, with a lavish buffet breakfast served in the main restaurant – an attractive space with arched ceilings and terracotta-coloured walls. There is also a lobby bar with regular live music in the evenings.

Business guests can make use of a wifi-enabled conference room, and the hotel also offers babysitting services, planned excursions and a lively entertainment programme during the Summer months. Car hire and laundry services can be arranged at the hotel. Further luxurious facilities are found at the nearby Duna Beach Club, easily reached by courtesy bus from the hotel. Rooms sleep two or three and are tastefully furnished. All are air conditioned (with heating for cooler nights), and also boast satellite televions, radio, mini bar, safe, direct dial phone and a balcony or terrace.

Lagos itself is a great place to explore – being packed full of historic buildings and monuments.

The sunny Algarve beaches are perfect for sports as well as sunbathing, and watersports and snorkeling are also popular activities in Lagos. A moonlight stroll along the beach is a wonderfully romantic option in the evenings, as is taking in the sunset at Saint Vincent Cape. Boat rides along the Algarve coast are also popular amongst holidaymakers in Lagos, with beach hopping and a light lunch making this the perfect day out.

The reviewer found the staff helpful, and loved the Dune Beach Club. “We will be back for sure”, the reviewer added.

Another reviewer found the staff ïncredible”, and felt that their room, with private courtyard, was terrific value for money. The reviewer recommended: “If you get the chance, ask for this room because words cannot describe how pleasant it was.” The reviewer also praises the “well taken care of” pool area, and liked the local nightlife (staff were able to tell them about places well off the tourist trail, they said.)
