Marina Park Apartments Lagos

The Algarve in Portugal draws in thousands of visitors every Summer, all of whom flock to the Algarve’s golden shores to take in the hours of sunshine and beautiful scenery.

This part of Portugal actually has more sunshine than any other place in the West of Europe and the Algarve is also famous for its holiday facilities such as golf courses – many of which are world class – leisure and sporting facilities and friendly bustling resorts. There are also lots of good hotel accommodations for all guests requirements – from upscale all inclusive hotels to basic self catering aparthotels.

Location

The Marina Park Apartments are located in Lagos resort, just 76 kilometres away from the Algarve airport of Faro. It’s also situated just a few minutes away from some of the resort’s most famous beaches, and Lagos city itself is a short kilometre away from the hotel and easily accessible by foot, taxi or hotel bus.

The hotel complex has 27 apartment blocks on a hillside spot, near to the famous Lagos Marina the Meia Praia Beach and Espinhaço do Cão Mountain. The location makes the hotel excellent for local sightseeing and for easy access to the marina, the beach and lively Lagos town. There are also plenty of local tracks and networks for walking, cycling or horse riding.

Facilities

The hotel is a peaceful and relaxing hotel accommodation with well tended gardens. There is an outdoor pool and a separate smaller pool for children. Alongside these is a spacious sun terrace with loungers and parasols for guests to use. There are also two tennis courts for working off extra energy! The hotel has a fully manned reception desk which is open 24 hours a day to answer queries and also book excursions.

The Marina Park Apartments Algarve is a three star hotel and it’s comprised of apartments with kitchens for self catering. These are equipped with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Each apartment has a bathroom ensuite with shower and bath, and there is also a terrace or balcony with great views of Lagos resort and the marina. The apartments either come as single or double bed options, and there is a sofa bed in the living area which can be made into an extra bed. Cots for babies can also be reserved if arranged beforehand with the staff.

Things To Do Nearby

Excursions can be booked from reception and local attractions include water parks, safari parks, boat trips and discounts for the nearby Algarve golf courses. There are other great facilities nearby too, such as sailing, cycling, horse riding, fishing and water skiing. The other Algarve resorts are worth a visit too – again ask at reception for details.

The beach is around 25 minutes away and it has plenty of facilities along the shore including lounger and parasol hire, refreshment kiosks and lifeguards. There are also opportunities to try out watersports such as diving, sailing and jetskiing, and there is plenty of scope for walking along the local tracks. It’s also worth checking out some of the smaller countryside towns and villages in the Algarve, many of which offer wonderful culture, scenery and excellent local cuisines.

What Have Previous Guests Said?

Several guests to the Marina Park Algarve had returned from previous visits and recommended the location and facilities. One group said that the staff had been very helpful and gone out of their way to make them feel welcome – even helping them when they’d got locked out after a night in town! Another guest said their room was far better equipped than they’d expected and that there were plenty of excellent restaurants nearby, including a great Italian, Indian and fish and chip shop. They also recommended that guests visit the marina to try some of the more local cuisines there.

Another guest said that the apartments were great for families and there were plenty of local supermarkets nearby for picking up food. She’d found the kitchen to be well equipped and also recommended the nearby attractions for children which included a travelling circus during their stay! The only downside she felt was that the hillside location, whilst picturesque, might make this hotel less suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

One final guest said that the hotel was ideal for their holiday of sightseeing and they’d enjoyed the Lagos attractions such as nightlife and street entertainment. He also found the hotel to be clean and tidy and noted that their room was cleaned and linen and bedding refreshed several times during their holiday.
