Marina Club II Hotel

The Algarve is an ever popular tourist paradise, with more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Western Europe, not to mention a host of other excellent attractions such as sports, entertainments, culture, glorious landscapes and plenty of friendly resorts and an excellent cuisine.
Those visiting the Algarve for the first time will be pleased to find it such a family friendly location, and there are a great many good quality Algarve accommodations to suit all budgets and tastes – everything from chic hotels to ‘cheap and cheerful’ self catering villas.
Location
The Marina Club II Hotel is situated directly in Lagos Harbour, which is known as being one of Europe’s most beautiful. This makes the hotel very desirable in terms of attractive location, as it is close to sailing, restaurants, bars and plenty of terraces for enjoying a cool drink on a hot day.
The Marina Club II aims to be an oasis for visitors – a tranquil and comfortable accommodation where guests can relax and unwind, and the marina location is ideal for this – offering diversions and activities without the constant noise levels of some resort areas. It’s still close to the old town and the beach, and there are a good range of bars, cafes and restaurants in the local area.
Facilities
The Marina Club II Algarve has a good range of facilities. There is a 24 hour fully manned reception, with multilingual receptionists, and lifts for easy access. There’s a safe, and other services such as internet access, shops, a laundry service and even conference facilities.
A cafe/bar is on site for convenience and there’s also a sauna for relaxation. Outside children can enjoy the use of a dedicated playground area and there’s cycle hire available. There are three swimming pools, with one being indoors, and there are plenty of parasols and sun loungers available for guests to use. There is also a sun bed and massage facility.
Each of the hotel rooms are spacious, with an en suite bedroom. As with many Algarve hotels there is centrally controlled air conditioning and each room also has a telephone, a TV, radio and valuables safe. There’s also a kitchenette which has a microwave, a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Each room also has a generously sized terrace or balcony with lovely views of the resort harbour. The rooms are designed in a modern style, with a minimalist feel.
Things To Do Nearby
The marina has hundreds of boats to admire and the scenery of this area is superb. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and cafe/bars around the marina, and nearby Lagos town has good shops and a range of nightspots.
Entertainments include singers and musicians in the town squares. Sailing is available from the marina, as well as boat trips, and there are various watersports available at the nearby beach. There’s also a train that runs around Lagos which is great for sightseeing and various tour companies run excursions to other parts of the Algarve.
Other attractions in the area include the famous Algarve golf courses and the miles of cycle and horse riding tracks – many of which follow the coastline or head through the countryside. There are also other friendly resorts to visit such as Albufeira, and attractions for children such as Zoomarine, waterparks and go karting tracks. Sporting fans can take advantage of local tennis and squash court hire, or try waterskiing, diving or snorkelling. The Algarve is of course also famous for its lovely beaches, and there are plenty to visit with good local transport links for those a little further afield. There is a beach near to the Marina Club II, just a short walk away.
