The Magnolia Mar Beach Club Hotel is typical of Algarve resort accommodation, offering a very modern purpose built accommodation, built with a pyramid-like structure.
It offers a range of newly furnished studios, all decorated in a calming and contemporary style. It is located in Porto de Mos, only a few quick minutes away from the seafront and a short ride to the resort town centre of Lagos. Transfers are simple, as the hotel is just an hour away from Faro Airport, and there are also three excellent golf courses nearby.
Facilities
The Magnolia Mar Beach Club is a three star hotel accommodation, and offers good facilities for guests. There is a well sized swimming pool and a terrace area with parasols and loungers available for sunbathing.
There are lovely tended gardens to stroll around or relax in, and also a tennis court for working out and expending a little energy! There is a restaurant which provides a good menu for evening meals, and which is where the morning’s continental breakfast is served, buffet style. For guests wishing to travel to the resort centre, there’s a complimentary bus service which runs several times a day during the week. The staff at the manned reception desk can advise on this, and other local services and excursions. The resort is well provided for in terms of taxis and public transport, and local travel operators offer day trips to other local Algarve attractions.
The studio rooms have a bedroom and separate lounge area with two beds as standard. There’s also a sofa bed and good air conditioning controlled within the room. Other amenities include the television, a radio, a safe box for valuables, a telephone and a well equipped kitchen and private bathroom. Each studio also has a terrace, many of which have lovely views of the sea and the surrounding resort. There are also one bed studio apartments available. All of the rooms are cleaned by a maid service three times each week, and towels and linen are also regularly refreshed.
Things To Do Nearby
There’s plenty to occupy tourists near the Magnolia Mar Beach Club Hotel, particularly for those looking for active pursuits. The Algarve is of course famous for its golf courses, and there are three well known courses near to the Magnolia Mar Beach Club. There are also squash courts for hire nearby, and horse riding – which is well worth doing along the coastline or out into the country.
There are a number of cycle tracks available with bikes available for hire – perfect for families and couples, and there are also a lot of watersports provided – jetskiing, diving, sailing and waterskiing for both beginners and the more experienced. The resort of Lagos is well worth a visit too as it has a good range of restaurants offering both international and local cuisines, shops offering souvenirs, clothes and other items, a market, cafes and bars and plenty of ice-cream bars!
What Have Previous Guests Said?
A number of Algarve visitors have left comments and feedback about the Magnolia Mar Beach Club and the resort. One guest said that their room was ‘massive’ and slept five guests – and they commented on how well it was stocked, with excellent kitchen facilities.
Another visitor said that the staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. Their only comment was that the hotel was a taxi ride away from town, so it might not be ideal for people looking to head in and out of town constantly. Another group of first time visitors to the Algarve commented on how attractive and friendly the resort of Lagos was, and they felt that the Magnolia Mar Beach Club Hotel was very well situated to take advantage of the beach and local watersports in particular.
They also recommended the use of a hire car for visiting other local attractions such as the aquamarine parks and nearby towns and villages, and said that the courtesy bus into Lagos town was useful. Overall it was recommended as being a comfortable and pleasant place to stay for a holiday.
