Estrela Da Luz Hotel is under 200 metres from the wide stretch of sandy beach, where you will find beach bars and a supermarket. It is only an hour’s drive from Algarve’s Faro Airport. The hotel is close to the heart of the village of Praia Da Luz and within a short walk of 250 metres to a selection of restaurants and bars. The hotel is only 5 minutes away from the larger, more lively Lagos, and slightly further afield is the bustling resort of Portimao.
The surrounding area inland is unspoilt and rugged, with agriculture based communities and small villages dotted around the landscape. The nearest golf course is a mere 2 km away. Portugal is a popular place for golfers to enjoy a round of golf throughout the year, and the Algarve has some of the best courses in the country.

Estrela Da Luz Hotel has 145 rooms and 4 lifts. Spread over 5 floors, it has a reception area, 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna, and fully equipped gymnasium which offers daily classes.
In addition, you can enjoy the health and beauty spa. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and bar, as well as a cafe serving food throughout the day, and internet access is available. There is a childrens’ playground area with supervised activities, as well as a babysitting service.
Apartments range in size from studios to 3 bedrooms. The luxurious apartments are spacious, and each have satellite TV, DVD player, fully equipped kitchen and balcony. There is a maid service and towel change twice per week, with linen change once a week.
Things To Do Nearby
There are great surfing conditions around Lagos, with organised trips for groups in search of the perfect wave. Equipment and wetsuits are available for hire. For those who just want to enjoy swimming safely in the Atlantic, an area is roped off to direct all boats to shore in order to avoid hazards for swimmers. The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag and there is a life guard on duty during the day.
At one end of the beach stands the Black Rock, which is a remnant of volcanic activity, and around the rock are good swells for surfing. In Lagos itself, there is a diving school and you can hire a speed boat for the day in order to investigate the surrounding coastline. There are also organised dolphin watching trips running from Lagos as well as an assortment of half and whole day cruises.
Close to Lagos is the picturesque fishing village of Burgau. It has a beautiful sandy beach with rocky outcrops and is never crowded, even during the high season. The village has many steep cobbled streets, some fine restaurants and bars and is only 5 minutes from Praia Da Luz.

It is conveniently located for the nearby beach, especially with small children in tow. The Algarve village of Praia Da Luz is very clean and quiet, although more lively evening entertainment is available at nearby resorts. There is often a gusty breeze blowing across the bay in the evenings, so jackets or cardigans are recommended for those times.
Guests are particularly pleased with the kitchen equipment available, such as a washing machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher, iron and ironing board, halogen stove and oven. The cafe on site provides excellent snacks at reasonable prices. Guests are impressed with the roominess of their accommodation, even in the studio apartments.
