It only takes 1 minute to walk to a nearby bus stop and during the day buses travel in to Lagos from the hotel quite regularly, though they do stop running through the night. The nearest station to the hotel is situated in Lagos just 2 kilometres away. Although, with the beach right there on your doorstep you might not need to go anywhere at all! There’s no need to go far to have a splash in the sea, get some good food or find a nice spot to soak up some sun with this charming mini resort.

Facilities

Housed in the understated and traditional white and blue building of Aqua Meia Praia Portugal are many excellent facilities. There’s a small lobby with early check-ins available at 2pm and the building has two lifts, there are also 2 outdoor pools and guest rooms are laid out on 3 floors. Car parking is available at a reasonable cost per night or per hour and there are also tennis courts, car rental facilities and a solarium all on site.

There are additional facilities in each guestroom, typical of an Algarve hotel such as satellite televisions and mini fridges and staff are happy to advise guests on things to do and see in the surrounding areas. The hotel’s salt water swimming pool offers guests the chance to cool off and relax close in a calm environment and the hotel is set against a backdrop of stunning landscaped gardens.

Things To Do Nearby

You don’t need to walk far from the Algarve Aqua Meia Praia to have fun. The nearby Bahia Beach Bar provides on beach entertainment in the form of live bands, good food and cocktails, meanwhile fans of Golf can play a few rounds at the Palmares Golf course in Lagos. History buffs might like to visit the Forte da Ponta da Bandeira which is a castle-like Portuguese fortress that used to defend the coast against pirates and corsairs.

There’s also the Museu Regional (museum) and the Igreja de Santo António (an historic church with famous bell towers and baroque paintings.) Added to these cultural delights there are also plenty of bars and sandy beaches along with companies which run excursions, boat rides and offer the provision of tutorage in water sports along with specialist kit hire.

Some visitors describe the hotel as a great place to stay with one reviewer even saying: ‘Get there while you still can,’ because they had such high praise for Aqua Meia Praia. Another reviewer described the hotel as a mini resort which was cosy, pleasant and affordable whilst another online opinion suggested that some of the rooms were grubby and in need of repair and that staff had been less than helpful.

One reviewer said the opposite, however, describing the rooms at Aqua Meia Praia Algarve as well decorated with the hotel set within beautiful surroundings and the facilities such as a pool and two tennis courts as top notch. They also liked the buffet style breakfast, peaceful locale and found the price of a night’s stay very appealing. Criticisms for the Algarve Aqua Meia Praia included the suggestion that room sizes were on the small side and there was no air conditioning to keep rooms cool. However, many other visitors lauded the fact the hotel is only a short taxi ride from Lagos centre and is located on the beach, making it perfect for lounging, swimming, sunbathing and grabbing a beach-bar drink.
