Cheap Flights to the Algarve
The Algarve is located in the extreme south of the beautiful country of Portugal, and it is served principally by Faro International Airport. The Algarve is a very desirable holiday destination and this is reflected in the number of flights that go to this hugely popular area. Add to the large number of flights, a wonderful variety of hotels and you have the makings of a very easy-to-arrange holiday destination.
Most low cost airlines fly regularly to Faro and flights are now readily available from many UK airports, the longest flight being only around 3 hours whereas, from Bournemouth on the English south coast, the flight is as short as 1 hour, 15 minutes! Cheap flights to the Algarve are available throughout the year as the climate here is favourable even in the winter months. Year-round sunshine, a warm sea, world-class golf courses and fabulous beaches make the Algarve a magnet for visitors from Britain. When it is dark and raining in the UK, think ALGARVE! Easy to get to and not far from home, this area of Portugal offers an escape from the damp winter days of England. With so many flights on offer, last-minute bookings can be found quite easily via the internet or your local travel agent.
Scotland
Flights from Scotland to Algarve are of course the farthest and take slightly longer than those leaving from further south. Nevertheless, Scotland is very well-served. Flights from Aberdeen Airport to Algarve leave 3 times a week by Aer Lingus whereas Thomsonfly uses Edinburgh, as do First Choice Airways. Thomsonfly also flies from Glasgow Airport to Algarve once a week. First Choice Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines offer flights to Algarve from this airport too.
Northern Ireland
Flights to Algarve from Belfast in Northern Ireland are by Easyjet which offers a regular weekly service.
North of England
The north of England is very well served with flights from the various airports to the Algarve. Flyglobespan and Easyjet leave from Durham Airport in the northwest.
Thomsonfly, Easyjet, Monarch Scheduled and Thomas Cook Airlines depart from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Algarve at various times throughout the week. First Choice Airways fly from Humberside as do Thomas Cook Airlines and BMI Charter. First Choice Airways and Jet2 also use Leeds Bradford. Manchester flights are by Thomas Cook Airlines, BMI Charter and First Choice Airways whilst Newcastle International, in the far northeast, uses Easyjet.
The Midlands
Bmibaby flies from Birmingham to the Algarve every day except Friday and Sunday. Flights from Coventry are by Thomsonfly which departs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
First Choice Airways, Thomsonfly, Thomas Cook Airlines, Flyglobespan and BMI Charter have flights leaving from East Midlands Airport, Nottingham.
South and South West England
From Exeter, in Devon, Flybe offers regular flights. First Choice Airways, Futura and My Travel Airways also fly from this delightful, small airport to the Algarve. Southampton uses Flybe and flights can also be found on the south coast from Bournemouth Airport which Ryanair has recently added to its itinerary.
London
Wherever you are in London or the Home Counties, you will not have to travel far to find a flight to the Algarve. From London Gatwick, flights to the Algarve are by British Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines and My Travel Airways. Tap Air Portugal and Easyjet depart from London’s Heathrow whilst Easyjet and Monarch Scheduled use Luton Airport in Essex.
