Ibis Faro Hotel

The Ibis Faro Hotel is a beautiful resort just 2 kilometres from the centre of Faro. Modern, funky, colourful and fresh are all words we’d use to describe the look of this hotel, but it’s not just a pretty face. Surely one of the most appealing hotels in Portugal, the Ibis Faro Hotel has cleanliness and a simplicity about it that is perfect for elegant, fuss-free travel.
Like many hotels in the Algarve the name of this hotel is often switched around in advertising literature, so sometimes it is known as Ibis Faro Hotel, but other times it may be called: Ibis Hotel Faro or even just Faro Ibis Algarve. It’s important that potential visitors realise this so that they don’t become concerned that there are several hotels with similar names when there is in fact just one!
There are 81 air conditioned guest rooms and there are also two excellent meeting or conference rooms perfect for business seminars in Portugal. The Algarve is becoming an increasingly popular place to hold team development meetings and present pitches and campaigns for clients and business partners.
This is because the Algarve hospitality industry perfectly fuses professionalism and luxury. Business travellers who come to the Algarve and stay at the Ibis Faro Hotel can also indulge in some delicious international cuisine served in La Table Rouge, the Hotel restaurant. Because the hotel is popular with business visitors photocopy services, fax services and wireless internet access are all available.
Happy Holidays
Although, we’ve highlighted how great this hotel is for business visitors, it’s also a superb holiday resort too and it offers plenty to keep you and your fellow travellers occupied. Situated just 3 kilometres from the airport the transport connections are very good. An outdoor swimming pool gives guests the opportunity to relax in style and cool off from that famous Algarve heat.
If you love tennis or just want to give it a try, there are tennis courts 2 kilometres away and Golf fans can enjoy a few rounds on a nearby course (10 kilometres from the hotel.) You can email friends and family back home with the Ibis Faro Hotel’s Wi-Fi internet access which is available throughout the hotel and guest rooms aren’t just air conditioned, they’re climate controlled, ensuring they’re always comfortable and allowing you to get a good night’s sleep.
If sleeping isn’t your style you can get hot snacks throughout the evening or visit the hotel’s 24 hour bar for a few drinks, it’s the perfect way to avoid getting jet lag and have a laugh with some pals. You can also have a lie in at the Ibis Faro because breakfast is served all morning, from 4 am to mid day, giving you the opportunity to get up and eat at a time that suits you before exploring what the Algarve has to offer.
Facilities and Services
Unusually for an Algarve hotel, the Ibis Faro is very young. The building was first built in just 1992 and this modern, 3 star resort keeps amenities simple. You’ll get a telephone; a daily maid service and a television in your room. Laundry and dry cleaning services are also available on request if you need them.
The Ibis Faro Hotel has a reputation for truly caring about the needs and feelings of visitors and in many respects it goes above and beyond the standards set in most Algarve resorts. For example, the hotel’s staff are multi-lingual and always pleased to help customers with any questions or requests.
Unlike many other hotels, pets are also allowed, but it’s best to enquire about this by email or on the telephone. Many adjustments were also made when designing the building to ensure that there was plenty of room for wheelchair access, so that no visitor would feel uncomfortable during their stay and as such the hotel has a very welcoming, progressive atmosphere.
Customer Feedback
The opinions of visitors to the hotel can be found on many review sites and the general responses are very positive. Some people love the Ibis Faro’s location and found it easy to get around but others were sad that it wasn’t more central. Many previous customers recommended a rental car to reach the nearby shopping mall and city proper.
Almost all visitors to the hotel described the hotel as very clean and well presented with many also commenting positively on the walled garden and outdoor pool. Many visitors also said the Ibis Faro is very typical of the Ibis brand in general. In that respect if you are a fan of their other hotels (both in the Algarve and around the world) then you’re likely to love this one!

IBIS Faro is near the airport, so easy if you have early flight to catch.
The pool area is great! And stuff very nice and helpful. Our best wishes
Rooms are small, clean, but good for sleep. In small, but clever bathroom they even have bath to have nice foambath. (Not for two people though)
Near Ibis there is huge shopping center to buy beatiful clothes and so on.
If you respect the pool area take IBIS. But if want to be in the city then go there.
