Location

The four star Pestana Viking Hotel, Armacao de Pera is located centrally in the Algarve region of Portugal, ensuring ease of access to a wide range of sites and resorts.

The hotel is only 45 minutes away from Faro Airport which is the main airport for flights into and out of the area, thus offering a relatively short transfer time, a bonus after the flight (or travelling with children!).

Every room has a private balcony with either a sea view or a view of the beautiful gardens, together with a mini bar as well as a hairdryer. Facilities

The Pestana Viking Hotel, Algarve has a number of excellent facilities which are available to all guests. The hotel is home to a relaxation spa and two salt water swimming pools, all of which are well maintained. There is also direct access to the beach from the hotel which is a particular attraction: no long walks down to the beach front! There is an indoor swimming pool too, giving you plenty of choice, particularly if holidaying out of season.

A keep fit centre and gym are located in the hotel and are open to all. For guests of a sporty persuasion, there is a multifunctional field for a range of activities as well as a golf course and you will find numerous organised excursions such as bike riding and boat trips. There is a shop on site and a games room and kids club to keep the little ones entertained. For business visitors, in addition to internet access, the hotel has a conference room which can be booked in advance.

Things to do nearby

The Algarve is, of course, legendary for its golf courses and many visit the region specifically for this purpose. However, in addition to the hotel’s own course and a number of other courses near to the Pestana Viking Hotel, there are a range of sights and attractions to suit all members of the party. These include tennis, bicycle riding and another Algarve speciality: water sports on the nearby Nuestra Señora de Rocha Beach. Bike riding can be particularly rewarding in the Algarve as many areas offer superb scenery.

For those with less energy to burn, a gentle stroll into the town centre of Armacao de Pera will be rewarded with good shopping and a wide range of bars and restaurants with an equally diverse set of dishes on offer. All of this delivered with a traditionally warm Portuguese welcome. The evening can be rounded off nicely with a stroll through the landscaped gardens of the hotel, perhaps venturing onto the beach at dusk to watch the sun go down and relax to the sound of the waves.
