Situated some 4 kilometres away from the commercial town of Portimão, which has a vibrant night life, and approximately 3 kilometres from Praia da Rocha and Praia da Vau, both of which are popular destinations for beach lovers, Alvor resort is essentially an oasis of calm and natural beauty.
Faro Airport is about an hour away from Alvor, although the Club Brisamar Apartments is located just outside of the resort so expect a little more travelling time upon arrival and departure. For those interested in the outdoors experience, Quinta da Rocha Nature Reserve is also nearby. Experiencing some of the best weather conditions in Portugal with some 3,000 hours of annual sunshine and summer temperatures in excess of 30 Celsius, visitors can expect fine weather throughout most of the year. Club Brisamar Apartments is situated approximately two kilometres from Alvor’s golden beach.

Rooms at the Club Brisamar Apartments include a fully equipped bathroom, kitchenette and air conditioning. Balcony space is also provided in addition to a large bedroom and living room area.
The spacious and modern apartments also comprise satellite television, telephone, microwave, washing machine and a safety deposit box. The rooms are cleaned throughout the week and towels and linen are changed twice a week. The Club Brisamar Apartments offers a range of services and facilities that are popular amongst young couples and families staying in the quiet Alvor resort. Notably, there are individual swimming pools for adults and children in addition to the availability of water sports.
Furthermore, the Club Brisamar Apartments comprises two tennis courts, a fitness room and a games room. There are also two bars and a restaurant at the hotel, although guests will be tempted by Alvor’s splendid local restaurants and bars. The hotel also offers an all inclusive service, which consists of a buffet breakfast, dinner and ice cream for very reasonable prices. Portugal’s Alvor resort is a quiet, pleasant destination and the Club Brisamar Apartments is every bit in keeping with the area.
Things to do in Alvor
The Alvor resort is a peaceful corner of Portugal’s Algarve, quite unlike the more touristy destinations of Portimão and Praia da Rocha, which are within travelling distance of Alvor and are well worth a visit for the Casino, nightclubs, bars, restaurants and popular beaches. In contrast, Alvor’s beach is far quieter and its golden sands back against a range of dunes, cliffs and natural grottos. Alvor is very much the place to bronze tans and soak up a little rest and relaxation.
Nevertheless, the resort offers many other activities such as walking, cycling, golf, horse riding and water sports including scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and jet-skiing. Guests staying at the Club Brisamar Apartments will be able to sample the local fish and seafood dishes, some of which are freshly grilled in restaurants adjacent to the beach, whilst there is also plenty of live music and sight-seeing to enjoy. In summary, Alvor is not just about the tranquillity, culinary delights and Mediterranean weather – it is a fun place to stay for all ages.
What have previous guests said?
A concern raised by a number of guests is that the Club Brisamar Apartments is a very large hotel complex with many flights of steps. Therefore, it is advised that the hotel is somewhat unsuitable for guests with walking difficulties or other relevant health conditions. Otherwise, however, the Club Brisamar Apartments is generally considered a pleasant and relaxing place to stay, especially for couples and young families.
Friendly and helpful staff make the stay all the more enjoyable, whilst particular praise has been lavished on the spacious and fully furnished rooms. Indeed, this hotel is typical of most self-catering accommodation found in Portugal’s Algarve, although there is the added bonus of the all inclusive service.
read a few bad reviews about this place and read a few good ones.my view on the place is this ,when we first arrived place looks a little shabby but the apartments are spacious and clean and have every amenity you need including a washing machine.pool areas are very well managed theres no sneaking down at 7 to put your towel on a sunbed here and then turning up at 11 to lie on it, it aint tolerated,pool attendant on duty all the time.location isnt ideal its about a 25 minute walk into alvor town and 35 mins to the beach,although there are 1 or 2 nice restaraunts within a cple of hundred yards.alvor itself and and its beaches are fantastic varied restaraunts in the village.the beaches were fantastic and if you walk a few hundred yards from alvor beach towards praire da roche there are lots of little alcove beaches water is clean but being the atlantic its bloody freezing when you first go in.back to the apartments themselves entertainment is there but not very entertaining although i must say i diddnt use the place at night.one last thing before i sign off. place is extortionate you can buy a can of coke at a supermarket for 50 cents but forget to buy one and go to the beach the shop down there charge you 2.50 beware shop around the best restaruant we used was the cheapest.
