Location

Alvor resort is perfectly situated some 4 kilometres away from the more touristy commercial town of Portimão, which offers a vibrant night scene and is well worth a visit, and approximately 3 kilometres away from Praia da Rocha and Praia da Vau -both extremely popular destinations for beach lovers!

Faro Airport is about one hour away by car and, for anybody interested in an outdoors adventure, Quinta da Rocha Nature Reserve is also nearby. Alvor also experiences some of the best weather conditions in Portugal, with 3,000 hours of annual sunshine and summer temperatures in excess of 30 Celsius. Club Alvor Golf Apartments is located about one mile away from central Alvor.

Rooms at the Club Alvor Golf Apartments are amongst the best in the Alvor resort, with each featuring a private bathroom including a shower, kitchenette and either a balcony or terrace.

The kitchenette is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, microwave and fridge – ideal for any self-catering holiday. There is also a safety deposit box upon request, satellite television, hairdryer and telephone. In short, accommodation at the Club Alvor Golf Apartments is just about as good as anywhere in Portugal.

Facilities

The Club Alvor Golf Apartments is a good destination for young families, as many of the facilities it offers are geared towards children. Indeed, in addition to the main swimming pool, games room and television lounge, there is a childrens’ swimming pool, childrens’ playground and childrens’ mini club!

This popular hotel in the Alvor resort also comprises a bar, snack bar, internet access and even table tennis. There is also a currency exchange facility in the hotel and visitors looking to get out and about in Portugal will find the car and bicycle rental services extremely useful. Moreover, this pleasant and friendly hotel offers regular room keeping, as linen is changed twice a week and fresh towels provided five times a week.

Things to do in Alvor

Tourists staying in the Alvor resort will not discover a loud nightclub scene but will instead be able to enjoy Portugal’s Algarve in its most peaceful and tranquil state. Renowned for its traditional fish and seafood dishes, Alvor is home to a range of splendid restaurants, which guests in the area are advised to visit in order to sample these culinary delights.

There are also plenty of bars dotted around the cobbled streets of Alvor and, more often than not, live music softly resounds throughout the town. Nevertheless, Alvor is more than just food, music and warm Mediterranean sunshine. Indeed, there are many enjoyable activities on offer at the resort, including walking and cycling, horse riding, golf, scuba diving, windsurfing and snorkelling.

Notwithstanding this, tourists travel to Alvor for a little rest and relaxation. However, when a little more adventure is required, tourists will find themselves within spitting distance of the casino, nightclubs and bars of Portimão and Praia da Rocha.

The Club Alvor Golf Apartments is generally considered a pleasant and relaxing place to stay for couples and young families. Staff have been described as friendly and helpful, which is typical of the local people in the resort of Alvor, and guest were in most cases happy with their stay.

One minor quibble raised was that the standard of room furnishings was a little outdated, but on the whole the rooms in the Club Alvor Golf Apartments were considered to be plain, simple and practical. Indeed, this hotel is typical of any self-catering accommodation found in Portugal’s Algarve and the prices are just as competitive.
