Sophie Marum villa, Vilamoura
Part of the Vilamoura villas group, the Sophie Marum Villa is a well appointed villa situated in Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region. The semi-detached villa sleeps six and is located in a quiet residential area of Vilamoura, a 30 minutes drive from Faro airport.
The Sophie Marum villa is comprehensively equipped with everything required to ensure a home from home. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob and fridge/freezer, allowing you plenty of scope to experiment with local ingredients. There is also a washing machine located in the utility room.
The lounge offers many opportunities for you to relax with a satellite TV and DVD player. The adjoining dining area has patio doors opening up to your own private, Roman style pool, which can also be accessed from the covered terrace. The pool is 7 x 3m and has a depth of 1.20 – 2.20m and comes with sun loungers allowing you to sunbathe and take a dip whenever you wish.
There are three double bedrooms, two on the first floor, each with their own en-suite and balcony and the third on the ground floor – with a third bathroom also located on the ground floor. This makes the villa ideal both for a group of friends sharing or a family.
For those who wish to take full advantage of the sunny weather to eat al fresco, the Sophie Marum in Vilamoura has a built in barbecue, which is located in the utility area. The entire property is fully air-conditioned, allowing you to relax inside even during the heat of the day.
Vilamoura villas are centrally located and the Sophie Marum villa is no exception,it only takes five minutes drive to the centre of town. The other facilities are equally well located, the nearest cafe/restaurant is 0.2km, nearest bar 0.2km and the nearest mini/supermarket is 1.1km. Vilamoura is an area, not a town and is one of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe. It is both family friendly, has a good night life and there are plenty of things to do to suit all tastes and interests.
The marina is a must even for those who are not interested in boats. Wander along day or night and admire all the surroundings. Boat excursions along the coast up to Lagos also leave from the marina. In February the town hosts the Vilamoura International Carnival Sailing Competition, bringing the area alive with sea-faring vessels.
For those interested in a more active holiday there are plenty of options. There are four golf courses and other sports on offer include tennis, lawn bowling, swimming, riding and shooting. There is also a museum, a preserved roman site, designer shops, a casino and plenty of bars and restaurants offering a mix of international and local cuisine.
For those who want to simply relax on one of the Algarve’s famous beaches, then the nearest one is a short drive away at 3.5km. Vilamoura villas like Sophie Marum offer the ideal platform for exploring this cosmopolitan and vibrant region.
