Sol Sonia villa, Vilamoura

Sol Sonia is a detached, single storey villa in a serene neighbourhood of the popular resort of Vilamoura. Like many of the Vilamoura villas, Sol Sonia is designed in that southern European style, with white-washed walls, arches and pillars on the outside. Marble flooring and the ochre coloured décor is on the inside.
This property can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. All 3 bedrooms are en-suite plus a separate fourth bathroom. The lounge is equipped with Satellite TV, dining facilities and patio doors. It is amply proportioned and tastefully decorated with local art. The dining table looks out onto the superb garden. A small modern kitchen includes a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob and fridge / freezer. The villa is air-conditioned.
With the wonderfully warm Algarve climate, the outdoors is always considered as important as the interior in all of the Vilamoura Villas. Sol Sonia has a built-in barbecue, lawn and covered terrace. One of the main attractions of the villa has to be the kidney shaped swimming pool. The pool is 9 metres by 4 metres with a deep end of 1.70 metres.
A pergola style covered terrace with overhead trellis shades you from the midday sun with climbing plants. In the summer months these bloom with delightful pink blossom, making this particular Vilamoura villa very picturesque. All 3 bedrooms as well as the lounge open out onto the terrace.
The villa is ideally situated, with Vilamoura only 2.4 kilometres away. Bars, cafes and supermarkets are within walking distance, while the nearest beach is a short drive from the villa. The old village of Vilamoura with its more traditional Portuguese heritage, is within easy walking range.
The Algarve’s holiday resorts have so much to offer and Vilamoura is no exception. It is a quick trip from the quiet suburb of this villa to the bustling waterfront. Pursuits include shopping for designer brands, eating out and strolling around the picturesque marina. As the balmy night drops over the ocean, the nightlife cranks up, with discos, a casino and cabaret.
For the more energetic there are plenty of sporting activities. Naturally, water sports are popular, such as jet ski, water ski, scuba diving and sailing. Landlubbers can get in a round of golf at a top-notch course, play tennis or venture inland for the mountains.
Undoubtedly the best reason to stay at the Vilamoura villas has to be the world-class shoreline. It is easy to lose count of how many bays have won the coveted Blue Flag for excellence. Praia da Falesia is one of the closest to the marina area – a clean, spotless beach attended by lifeguards. It is also one of the longest runs of golden sand on the coast. A little further out and Meia Praia has a following of surfers, with a few bars to relax in, as the sun sets into the Atlantic.
A break at the Sol Sonia in Vilamoura has a lot going for it. Long sunny days on the beach and then coming home to the charm and comfort of a first rate villa.
