About the Hotel
The Hotel Residencial Colina do Mar is situated in a quiet and peaceful district in Albufeira resort. The hotel underwent a complete transformation and upgrade in 2000 and has thirty rooms over five floors.
It is located very close to the beach – which is only 250 metres away. Albufeira town centre is also very near – just 200 km away from the town centre – which has lots of shops, bars, restaurants and a lively nightlight to enjoy. Due to its central location, transport and travel is very easy and there are public links about 300 metres from the hotel.
Hotel facilities
The Residencial Colina Do Mar Hotel has a number of guest facilities. There is a large rooftop swimming pool surrounded by a sun lounge area with available loungers – it has panoramic views to enjoy of the sea and Albufeira town There is a lounge bar for drinks and snacks and a television room.
The hotel also has a bar which is ideal for pre-dinner drinks or a cocktail and it has a smart interior and stylish modern decor. There is internet access in the public areas and reception areas, and a luggage room for storage – all public areas are fully air-conditioned and the staff can offer currency exchange services. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room which is bright and airy and is a buffet with a wide range of continental as well as British breakfast options. Room service is also available. There is a sun terrace and solarium and also sports facilities such as tennis on site. There is a nearby golf course about two and a half kilometres away. The Hotel Residencial Colina do Mar also has facilities for disabled guests, and for families with young children, cots can be pre-arranged with the reception staff.
The Hotel Rooms
The hotel rooms are spacious and have modern tasteful decor. Each room is en suite with a bath and shower.
There are room facilities such as direct dial phones, a television, a minibar, air-conditioning which can be controlled within the room, a safe for valuables and wireless internet access. There is also a hairdryer.
Things to do in the Algarve
The Algarve really does have a lot to offer visiting guests. Many of the resorts are heavily geared towards families and the beaches are well equipped with changing and refreshment facilities and have lifeguards in high season. There are plenty of lively nightlife areas and Albufeira has the famous strip with all it’s restaurants, shops, bars and pavement cafes.
The marina is well worth a wander around, and again has lovely restaurants. It’s also worth heading out into the countryside to visit some of the villages and towns, many of which have excellent historical and cultural features to explore. The Algarve also offers lots of sports and leisure facilities at the resorts including golf, water-sports and cycling.
What Have Guests Said About the Residencial Colina Do Mar Albufeira?
Guests have shared positive reviews about the hotel. One reviewer said that the location was very central and only a two minute walk into the town centre, which was great for visiting restaurants in the evening or going out for a drink. This reviewer also thought that the staff were friendly and the continental buffet breakfast was excellent. He said that the hotel was peaceful at night and the rooms were clean and had a fantastic power shower!
Another guest said that the rooms were very comfortable and clean and that the hotel location was excellent, meaning that they could walk to all the local attractions at leisure. She also agreed that the breakfast buffet was very good and thought that the roof swimming pool and terrace was lovely with excellent views. She felt that the hotel represented excellent value for money and had found the staff to be very good and the maid service prompt and discreet.
A further guest said that the sunbathing area was really good and had toilet facilities – which she found particularly good as it meant that her children didn’t need to keep returning to the hotel room!
