The Ponta Grande Hotel is a four star superior aparthotel, located in peaceful surroundings approximately four km from Albufeira town and only a kilometre away from the nearest beach.
Hotel Facilities
There are sixty villas and good facilities on site, including a garden, a swimming pool and lawned play area for children. There is a fully manned reception area, a money exchange desk, a valuables safe, and a games room. You will even find a small supermarket on site for picking up those holiday essentials, together with a restaurant, cafe and bar on site for meals and snacks.
Entertainment-wise there’s a lot on the complex to do, including sports facilities, a swimming pool and an entertainment programme in the evening and kids’ entertainments in the daytime. Guests can also take advantage of the public internet, as well as useful services such as laundry, babysitting services and a playground for the kids. The Ponta Grande Resort has a car park for hire cars. Public transport is nearby and Faro Airport is only 40 kilometres away and there is an easy transfer service with local taxis.

The villa rooms themselves are nicely decorated in muted, traditional style and they are all spacious.
They have a kitchenette with oven, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and microwave. Each apartment also has air conditioning, a telephone, a TV and a combined bedroom and living area. Each has a balcony / terrace and the maid service comes in regularly to change the sheets and towels.
Things to do in the Surrounding Area
There are a lot of family-friendly activities to get involved in – sailing on the Atlantic, diving or jet-skiing… or the teenagers might enjoy a guided horse-ride along the coast. Visitors can also take leisurely cycle rides through the countryside and there are historic towns and villages and resorts to explore – with friendly local people and plenty of cultural and historical items of interest as well as a range of restaurants offering different international and local cuisines to enjoy. For golfers, the Algarve has a wide range of world class courses.
What Have Guests Said About the Ponta Grande Hotel, Algarve?
A number of guests have left their feedback on Ponta Grande Resort. They noted that it’s a lovely hotel, with clean and spacious villas on offer. The location is also a winner – just ten minutes by car to Albufeira town and also in easy reach of local beaches and other local towns and cities worth visiting.
One guest loved the fact that their villa had an ocean view and noted that some of the other villas had pool views – they said it was worth requesting an ocean view when booking.
Another reviewer said that there was a great lawn space where they could keep an eye on the kids playing, and they even had a hot tub on their villa terrace! Another said that the Ponta Grande Hotel was within easy walking distance of some good local restaurants. A further review noted that the hotel restaurant was pleasantly quiet – as was the bar and easy to get served in. Staff were felt to be helpful and friendly and there was good entertainment put on in the evenings and during the day for the kids. Generally the reviewers’ feedback all pointed to a nice, well appointed hotel property which was well managed, clean and pleasant.
