The Algarve is a popular tourist destination in Portugal, with a wonderfully temperate climate and more hours of sunlight than any other area of Europe.

As well as the weather (a particular attraction for British travellers!) the Algarve also has mile upon mile of stretching golden beaches alongside the Atlantic Ocean. Where to stay

One of the Algarve’s most popular resorts is Albufeira, with a wide selection of hotels from full board to self-catering apartments and studio ‘aparthotels’.

These offer particularly good options for visiting groups or families who prefer to have extra living space during their holiday and do some of their own cooking rather than eating out at every meal. Another benefit of these ‘aparthotels’ is that they tend to be very close to the beach and local facilities and have a friendly family feel with many other groups and children staying. One good example is the Perola Do Algarve Albufeira.

The Perola Do Algarve – Location

The Perola do Algarve is a four star hotel in Albufeira resort. It’s located in the centre of Albufeira, just a kilometre away from the nearest beach and the town’s historic and picturesque centre. Despite this however, the hotel is quiet and peaceful. There are good links with the nearby public transport infrastructure for travelling further afield.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel has a fully-manned reception with multi-lingual staff and a bar onsite and there’s even a kid’s club. You will find a garage and car park for guests with hire cars. Outside there is a swimming pool, whilst indoors there are jacuzzi and gym facilities as well as a restaurant.

The Perola Do Algarve has 90 apartments, all of which are air-conditioned and sensibly sized.

The rooms are stylishly decorated with a kitchenette and combined bedroom and living area. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, cooking facilities and the bathroom has a shower and bath. There is also a TV, phone and safe in each room as well as a spacious terrace / balcony.

Things to do in the Surrounding Area

As well as the beaches, the region has excellent leisure and sporting facilities. For example there is horse-riding available in the countryside or cycling tracks along the coast. Water lovers can get involved in some jet-skiing, sailing or diving and there are of course the world class Algarve golf courses for a few leisurely rounds of an afternoon. After a day of sunbathing or visiting the lovely towns and villages of Portugal steeped in culture, with excellent local food and friendly people, there’s also a bustling nightlife to entertain you with when the sun goes down. The popular resort of Albufeira includes the famous ’strip’ which has restaurants, cafes, bars and shops a-plenty and there are also supermarkets and bakeries for those people who are on a self-catering holiday.

What Do Visitors Say About the Perola Do Algarve Apartments Albufeira?

Various guests have left feedback on the Perola Do Algarve. One mentioned that he’d been there two years in a row and that the accommodation was fantastic value and a great option for a young family.

He said that the pool was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. He also noted that there was a supermarket over the road – perfect for cooking in the kitchenette and that the Perola Do Algarve was ideally located for the town and local attractions.

Another reviewer said that she’d travelled to the hotel as part of a group of friends and that it had really good sized apartments which were clean and well stocked. She’d found the staff to be courteous and helpful and that the location was great – with some fantastic carvelas and tavernas nearby for food and drinks. Another guest with a young family said that the kids’ club was an excellent facility and that it had given her and her husband an opportunity to relax without needing to worry about what the children were up to for a few hours! Finally another reviewer said that the hotel was surprisingly quiet despite being located near a shopping centre and supermarket – and that the rooms were really far larger than they’d expected from an Algarve aparthotel and that the terraces were fantastic for an early evening cocktail whilst enjoying the sunset.
