Novochoro Apartments – Albufeira

The sun-soaked Albufeira resort is one of the most popular Algarve resorts, and it has a high number of quality hotels and apartment accommodations available – as well as self-catering villas to match all requirements and holiday budgets.

The Novochoro Apartments Albufeira, Algarve is a great example of the smaller and family-friendly of the local tourist accommodations – it’s a basic and smaller property, which gives guests a relaxing, and peaceful haven for their holidays, close to the Albufeira resort’s centre. It’s located in a peaceful residential district of Albufeira, and is only a kilometre away from Montechoro, and is particularly suitable for older groups or families with young children.

What are the rooms like?

The Novochoro Apartments Albufeira has fifteen self-catering villa apartment rooms with a neat kitchenette and a lounge area, a well stocked bathroom with a shower/bath unit, and a large and well stocked balcony.

The well sized apartments come with foldaway sofa beds as well as baby cots too if needed. Each room is comfortably stocked and decorated in soft, summery muted tones, contemporary light fittings and everyday equipment like tea/coffee making facilities, a toaster, microwave and hairdryer etc. There’s a television in each room as well, and towels, utensils etc.

What are the facilities like?

The Novochoro Albufeira is less than a mile away from Montechoro, and also fifteen minutes away from the resort’s centre with all the shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife that you’d expect from a large tourist resort in Portugal.

It has a small swimming pool with a little bar and a reception area located directly alongside it. As it’s a self-catering apartment, there are no restaurants onsite, but there is a cafe very closeby serving food and drink – and of course there are a huge range of eating and drinking facilities in town.

The nearest beach to the Novochoro Apartments is the Praia de Albufeira – which is only about 3km away. There’s a courtesy bus put on by the Novochoro Apartments, to ferry guests back and forth there, twice a day. The Albufeira resort is very family friendly and has a pleasant and convivial atmosphere, perfect for visiting groups and families.

A supermarket is located nearby – about half a kilometre away, useful for stocking up on essentials, food and drink for the family, and there’s a great range of public transport services available nearby too – buses and taxis are also available just near to the hotel resort. Of course visitors are also close to Albufeira and the famous ‘strip’ as well – only 5 minutes away.

For golf lovers staying in the Algarve, there’s the Vilamoura Marina nearby which offers superior golfing facilities located in glorious Algarve surroundings. Why not also try going further afield during your stay and take some time to explore the wider Algarve and its surrounding areas – there’s a train station seven kilometres away and also private car hire available per day to get around a wider radius – or simply take a bus. For more local and laid back approach to travel, you could also hire a bicycle, or even a boat to view the resort area in true style! Or you could travel about and combine exercise by going on a horse ride – the Algarve is really well equipped for these type of sports activities.

What do people say?

There is a good range of comments from previous guests. One reviewer said it was a bit off the beaten track, but peaceful and quiet for a relaxing holiday. Other guests said that they thought the resort was perfect for quieter holidays, although those looking for lively nightlife holidays in Portugal might prefer to stay a little closer to the strip – and other reviewers said that there were some great restaurants nearby.

Generally all felt that the Algarve was a place to be re-visited, and that this hotel was a good contender for visiting families and small groups. It was also felt that the staff were friendly and welcoming, and that the small size of the complex made it particularly good for families with young children who didn’t want to worry about them getting lost. It was also recommended as a good spot for further exploration around the resort and the wider Algarve, with plenty of transport links available.
