Location

LTI Alfamar Beach & Sport ResortAs the resort is somewhat remote, car hire is a good option for those who want to explore this beautiful area of the Algarve. Rolling green hills dotted with fig, orange, almond and olive groves lie inland, while closer to hand lie the beautiful beach and nearby Roman Villa. The coastal path offers stunning views, and is ideal terrain for walkers and joggers.

The resort is also within easy reach of the town of Albufeira, a former fishing village that has expanded through tourism to become one of the largest resorts on the scenic Algarve coast. Despite this expansion, the town boasts a picturesque historic centre and fishermen still head out each day from the Fisherman’s Beach.

The old town is built around a pretty cobbled square lined by benches where visitors and locals enjoy shows and puppet theatre during the summer months. The narrow streets surrounding the square are lined with traditional bars, restaurants and market squares, whilst a path winds through rocky cliffs to the town’s main beach. The newer side of the town boasts a wealth of good shopping, dining and nightlife opportunities, in common with many Algarve locations.

There is a short boarded walk to the beach.”
