Further Activities

Jardins Vale De Parra HotelIn and around the Albufeira region of the Algarve lie beaches where the sands are fine and soft, and the clear turquoise seas are backed by rocks and red cliffs. Taking a drive along the Algarve coast, visitors will encounter wonderfully relaxed fishing villages and endless sandy beaches, whilst heading a few miles inland will allow guests at the Jardin Vale de Parra hotel to discover green hills, unspoilt Algarve towns and villages and trees laden with oranges, lemons, almonds, figs.and countless other fresh and tasty treats.

Hiring a bicycle or horseriding are two great ways to see the area, whilst car hire is a good bet for longer excursions. The slow pace of life in the Algarve, together with the beautiful scenery, makes driving in the area a pleasure in itself. A must for any tourist staying at the Jardin Vale de Parra hotel is a trip to Albufeira town, where modern tourist facilities lie side by side with centuries-old cobbled squares and windy streets. Once a quiet fishing resort, the town’s gorgeous location and terrific beaches have led to it becoming one of the most popular tourist results on the Algarve coast of Portugal.

The town is split into two distinct halves – the New Town and the historic Old Town. In the old town, tourists will find a maze of pedestrianised cobbled streets, surrounding the town’s picturesque main square. The square and surrounding streets are lined with lively bars and simple restaurants serving delicious fish caught that day by the fishing boats that depart from Fisherman’s Beach. By contrast, the New Town offers modern shops, supermarkets, bars, discos and nightclubs. This is the area to head for if you want to party until the sun comes up – especially the famous Strip, with its late night bars and clubs. Of course, no coastal town on the Algarve is complete without its beach, and a steep downhill path in Albufeira leads to the beautiful Praia da Oura (Beach of Gold). Albufeira is easily reached on foot, bicycle or by public footpath during the day, and is a quick taxi ride from the hotel at night.
