Flor Da Laranja Hotel

Friendly service, great facilities and a very warm welcome await holidaymakers arriving at the Flor da Laranja Hotel in the Algarve region of Portugal. Guests at the intimate Flor da Laranja Hotel can enjoy apartment-style accommodation and beautiful surroundings close to the Algarve resort of Albufeira.
With just 19 apartments in total, this dinky little three-star hotel complex lies in the secluded neighbourhood of Vale de Carro, and is set in its own gated gardens, surrounded by orange trees (the hotel name means ‘Orange Flower’ in Portuguese. Although it enjoys a pleasantly isolated location, the nearest beach is just two kilometres away, and the complex is only around 200 metres away from Algarve public transport connections.
The Hotel
Guests at the Flor Da Laranja hotel enjoy peace and quiet and the opportunity to relax undisturbed by the outdoor pool, as well as the tastefully appointed apartments that offer a combined living and sleeping area, separate bedroom, private bathroom, a balcony or terrace, and a well equipped kitchenette. All apartments have air conditioning/central heating, and are cleaned daily and replenished with fresh linen three times a week. Due to the remote location, car hire is advisable for those who want to explore the local area or travel to the bustling resort town of Albufeira, which lies 10 kilometres from the complex. Faro Airport, the main point of entry for holidaymakers arriving in the Algarve, is 25 kilometres away and is easily reached by car or public transport.
The Flor Da Laranja Hotel attracts scores of repeat guests each year, thanks to its scenic setting, safe, gated location and attentive service. A refreshing change from the vast, tower-block accommodation of many Algarve resorts, Flor Da Laranja boasts apartments that are set in two larger villa-style buildings and several smaller cottage-style blocks. The terrace by the pool is ideal for sunbathing, whilst a barbeque area close to the poolside allows guests to prepare al-fresco meals on balmy evenings and socialise with other holiday makers. A smaller childrens’ pool also boasts its own barbeque area, and the well-maintained gardens and manicured lawns are a great place for children to let off steam in safety.
The Surroundings
Beautiful sun-kissed sandy beaches, shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants all lie within a few minutes drive of the Flor Da Laranja hotel complex, and many guests choose just to sit back, relax, and make the most of the tranquil surroundings. Typical of Portugal, golfers will find two golf courses less than five kilometres from the hotel, and fishing, horse riding, cycling and watersports are all popular acitivities in the area. The Algarve is, of course, famous for its beaches, but is also remarkable for the sheer diversity of its terrain. The Flor Da Laranga Hotel lies within easy reach of many beautiful Algarve beaches and natural beauty spots, and provides plenty of scope for exploring. As the white sandy beaches stretch along the coast, just a few miles inland lie green fields studded with orange, fig, almond and olive groves, along with picturesque villages dominated by white-washed, terracotta-roofed cottages and traditional bars, restaurants and cafes. Here, the pace of life really slows down as the Meditterranean sun beats down on the flagstones of town squares.
The town of Albufeira itself is well worth a visit by day or by night. Once a small fishing village, the town has expanded to become one of the busiest resorts in the Algarve, but has lost none of its historic charm. In the ‘Old Town’, visitors will find handsome chuches, chapels and castle walls, whilst the cobbled town square is lined with tradtional bars and restaurants. In the ‘New Town’, the maze of narrow cobbled paths gives way to streets choc-a-bloc with modern bars, restaurants, shops and nightclubs. The famous Praia da Oura Beach is just a few minutes walk away.
Food
Foodies on an Algarve break at Flor Da Laranja will not be disappointed. Fish and seafood in the Algarve are delicious, as are the local fruits, vegetables and pastries. The Albufeira area provides countless opportunities to sample the local cuisine in the many bars, restaurants and cafes, and the street market in Albufeira town is perfect for those wanting to stock up on goodies to prepare a meal back at the hotel.
