The Casa Mitchell hotel is a small family run resort located in the centre of Albufeira in the Algarve, Portugal.
The main building houses just 13 apartments and so all guests are greeted and looked after with a personal touch. The old house was completely renovated in 2000 and each apartment is now furnished with modern equipment to make your stay comfortable. Reviews of the Casa Mitchell often comment on the friendliness of the Portuguese owners and the helpfulness of the staff in general. Location
The Casa Mitchell hotel is located in the centre of Albufeira in the Algarve and has good public transport connections to the rest of the town and the surrounding areas.
A range of shops, restaurants and bars can be found close by and the nearest beach is just 400m away. The town centre itself is a 10 minute walk downhill which means an uphill walk to get back. The hotel is close enough to the nightlife to be convenient but far enough away to be peaceful at night.
Hotel Facilities
The Casa Mitchell apartments, Albufeira offer a private pool and gardens to the guests that are sheltered from tourists walking around the town. The swimming pool is large and warm with a good sized sun terrace complete with enough loungers for each guest. The entertainment options are a bit limited however the hotel’s location within Albufeira makes up for this.

There are 13 apartments within the main house of the Casa Mitchell, Albufeira. In addition, there are also a number of detached studios dotted around the perimeter of the private gardens. Each apartment has a lounge, dining and bedroom area and an en-suite bathroom. The facilities include satellite TV, a personal telephone line, a mini bar and either a terrace or a balcony that overlooks the pool and gardens. The apartments also have their own kitchenette where you will find all the essential appliances for cooking meals and also a fridge.
The reviews of the rooms at this Algarve resort are all positive and in most cases past guests have rated them with a mark of ten out of ten. They are described as being cosy and comfortable with a homely feel. They are spotlessly clean and a full maid service visits everyday except Sundays. They have everything you would want from a low cost resort in the Algarve and more – plus if you do find a problem then the staff will be more than happy to make any changes required.
Bars and Restaurants
The resort itself doesn’t have a personal restaurant however there are several top quality eateries within a few hundred metres of the front door. Here you can sample the cuisine of the Algarve or stick to traditional English meals if you prefer. These restaurants are also fully licensed so you can enjoy a drink with your meal. Alternatively you can buy fresh produce and other foods from the nearby supermarket and cook within the apartment.
Entertainment
The location of the Casa Mitchell means that there are plenty of entertainment options available during both the daytime and into the night. Albufeira’s town centre has a wide range of shops, casinos, bingo halls and street entertainers that are open daily or alternatively you can walk the 400 metres to the nearby beach and join in some of the water sports and other activities. The nearest night club to the Casa Mitchell is about 3km away however the public transport links run well into the night and there are plenty of taxi ranks available too.
Overall Assessment
The Casa Mitchell in the Algarve, Portugal is touted as one of the friendliest resorts in the area.
The personal touch that every guest receives makes it a very popular destination and because of its size, the apartments can be booked up many months in advance. The location is perfect for those who want to spend time in Albufeira however the good transport links also make it easy to travel around and see other areas of the Algarve.
I haven`t stayed there but it seems like a very convenient and comfortable place to stay.
