One reviewer, who said they would be returning the following year, said that they found the hotel to be ideally located in the Old Town. They added that it was less than a 10 minute walk to the beach, with cages, bars and shops ‘practically on the doorstep’.

The reviewer added that the pool was nice and the evening meal very good. Another reviewer said they found the California Hotel to be a ‘pleasant surprise’ with standards and facilities that they would class as four-star rather than three-star. The reviewer added that there were around 30 restaurants nearby, offering ‘a fantastic range for all tastes’.

Another satisfied customer found staff at the hotel to be ‘welcoming and friendly but not in your face’. The reviewer said the hotel had character, unlike much of the accommodation in the new town, and was impressed with the standard of accommodation as well as the breakfast and the quality of service.
