Location
The Balaia Golf Village resort has a handy central location between the towns of Albufeira and Villamoura. By car or bus, both towns are around ten minutes away although the distance is easily walkable as well.
Set in the heart of the Algarve countryside, the hotel is surrounded by over 4 hectares of lush gardens which guests are welcome to explore or the nearest beach is just a ten minute walk away. Faro airport is the closest public airport and is around 30 minutes away by car.
Hotel Facilities
Although the Balaia Golf Village, Albufeira is aimed at seasoned golfers it doesn’t mean you have to play while there. The additional facilities offered at the Algarve resort include four adult and two children’s outdoor swimming pools, plus a heated indoor pool during the colder months, sun loungers and terraces around each pool, a health club complete with a modern gym and Jacuzzi, four all-weather tennis courts and a croquet lawn.
Non-sporting facilities include a 24 hour manned reception desk, parking for rental cars, two restaurants and a bar plus a separate area with a small supermarket, hairdresser, beauty therapy unit, newspaper stand and a gift shop. In fact, this particular Algarve resort has been designed to provide everything you may need while on a golfing holiday, just in case you don’t get round to leaving the resort.

The units start with studio apartments however there are also a number of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments as well. Alternatively, you can opt for two or three bedroom villas if you prefer your privacy.
All of the units have similar facilities including heating and air conditioning, Satellite TV in the living area, at least one bathroom complete with bath and shower, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchens come with all of the standard appliances i.e. electric cooker, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, however the superior villas also include a washing machine, a dishwasher and a tumble dryer. Reviews of the rooms mention their spaciousness and quality appliances with many people saying how at home they felt while holidaying in the Algarve.
Bars and Restaurants
The golfing resort has two restaurants to choose from plus a small café and a fully licensed bar. The restaurants serve a range of traditional Algarve dishes and continental dishes if you prefer. The food is described as being very good however it can be a little pricey for large families to eat there. With every room having a fully equipped kitchen however, cooking for yourself is a low cost alternative. The bar serves a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day while the café offers a relaxing atmosphere and a view across the extensive gardens.

The reviews of the Balaia Golf Village in the Algarve region of Portugal are generally very positive with very few people finding something to pick fault with. The range of accommodation makes the resort suitable for all sizes of families and the kid’s club means that even youngsters are well catered for. The busy towns of Albufeira and Villamoura are just a short drive away and the beach is within easy walking distance meaning there is always something to do even if golf isn’t your game.
