This beachside location makes the Auramar one of the most sort after low cost resorts in the Algarve and as such it is advisable to book well in advance during the summer season. The hotel is also one of the only resorts in the Algarve to offer both a bed & breakfast option and an All Inclusive option. Location

The Auramar hotel, Albufeira is located close to both the beach area and the main town of Albufeira. The beach is literally on the doorstep while the Strip is a 10 minute walk away and the traditional Old Town is approximately 20 minutes by foot.

The hotel runs a free bus service into the town three times daily, except for Sundays. The Auramar is in the Southern Algarve around 30km from the closest airport of Faro.

Hotel Facilities

The facilities at the Auramar hotel, Algarve are much more expansive than you would find in most other low cost resorts in Portugal. There is a large outdoor swimming pool that is open all year round, a heated indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a well equipped games room with billiard and snooker tables, a gymnasium and Jacuzzi, a sauna and a mini golf course. Most of these facilities are free of charge with an All Inclusive package and can be used as often as you like throughout your stay in the Algarve.

Additional facilities include a small internet café, secure parking and car hire, a large restaurant and bar area, a poolside snack bar, a manned reception and a children’s club with daily entertainments.

Room Facilities

The Auramar Hotel, Portugal is one of the largest in the Albufeira region of the Algarve. It has over 280 spacious apartments, all of which are en-suite and have either a terrace or a balcony.

Each apartment has one or two bedrooms and benefits from such services as a private telephone line, satellite TV and a radio, air conditioning and a small fridge. You can hire a safety deposit box for an additional daily fee if you wish.

Reviews of the rooms at the Auramar are mostly positive and virtually all of them comment on the cleanliness. There is a maid service that cleans the rooms daily and fresh towels are available on request. Most of the terraces have an ocean view however some look inland to the Algarve countryside instead. The rooms are described as spacious and comfortable while being equipped with the necessities.

Bars and Restaurants

The Auramar hotel has a large restaurant that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The bed & breakfast option allows you to enjoy the breakfast menu only however you can eat at other times for an additional fee. The food is described as being good quality however some people mention that the menu can get repetitive if you stay for more than a week and eat there everyday. There is also a poolside snack bar that is open from 11-5 on a daily basis where you can get a variety of hot and cold snacks plus drinks. The bar is open until late and serves local wine, soft drinks, a selection of beers and soda water.

Entertainment

The entertainment at the hotel is good throughout the year with evening shows five to six times per week. These vary from magic shows to line dancing and are free with the All Inclusive package. During the day, the staff runs clubs for both adults and children so that boredom is never an option. The location of the hotel also means that the entertainment options of Albufeira are also close by should you wish to try the bars and clubs there. Albufeira and the Algarve in general are also known for their shopping potential.

The Auramar hotel in the Algarve caters for all types of guests. This hotel is suitable for couples, groups and families alike which makes it a popular choice for people visiting the Algarve.
