The Algarve Gardens Apartments are actually part of the Alfamar Beach hotel complex (indeed the resort was formally known as the LTI Alfamar Apartments) which means that cheap holidays in Albufeira at this resort gets you the best of both worlds.

Location

The apartments and hotel complex are located 13km east of the town of Albufeira. It is a ten minute taxi or bus journey into the town and local transport runs regularly past the hotel. Alternatively you can hire a car for the duration of your Albufeira holidays and there is adequate parking at the site. The apartments are close to the Praia de Falesia beach and a 30-40 minute walk along the beach will take you to Villamoura.

Hotel Facilities

Staying at the Algarve Gardens Apartments means you can use the facilities of the Alfamar beach hotel – a factor which makes these cheap holidays in Albufeira even more popular. Guests spending their Albufeira holidays in the apartments can use the large outdoor swimming pool and the heated indoor pool plus children can play in the smaller pool as well. There is also a selection of sun loungers on the pool terrace and on the beach although the beach loungers do carry a small charge.

While on your Albufeira holidays at the Algarve Gardens Apartments you can also use the Jacuzzi and sauna room, the massage service, the on site hairdresser and the restaurant at the hotel. There is also a mini market that sells the essentials and a number of snack bars for daytime snacks and drinks. The reception is manned from 8am until midnight and there is an emergency telephone for the times in between.

Next door to the hotel complex there is a large sports centre that is available to guests on their Albufeira holidays. Some sports such as basketball, volleyball, handball and table tennis can be played free of charge however others will incur an additional fee. If your budget stretches to this then you can use the indoor and outdoor tennis courts, the football pitches and the high-tec gymnasium and fitness suite – not bad when compared to some cheap holidays in Albufeira.

Room Facilities

The Algarve Gardens Apartments offer a range of rooms to people booking Albufeira holidays. There are 98 bungalows and two additional buildings comprising of studios and two story apartments. The bungalows have either one bedroom or two while the apartments are mainly one bedroomed. Baby cots are available free of charge should you need one.

All of the rooms, regardless of size or style, have en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower, satellite TV with the music channels, a direct line telephone, central heating and a large balcony or terrace – all of which are furnished with a table and chairs. Most rooms also have a kitchenette with basic cooking facilities and a fridge.

Most people that have taken cheap holidays in Albufeira at the Algarve Gardens Apartments say that they are always clean and that most of the rooms are spacious and comfortable. They also mention that the apartment buildings and most of the bungalows are surrounded by large landscaped gardens and beautiful views.

Bars and Restaurants

Many people who spend their Albufeira holidays at the Algarve Gardens Apartments choose to cook in the apartments because they have the facilities to do so. There is a small supermarket on site and a second shop just across the road from the main entrance. There is however a good restaurant in the hotel that serves food at breakfast and dinner plus a number of snack bars dotted around the complex. Some of these aren’t open all year round however there is always at least one open.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Villamoura which is a 30 minute walk along the beach or you can travel into the town of Albufeira and sample the bars and restaurants there.

Overall Assessment

Albufeira holidays spent at the Algarve Gardens Apartments can either be relaxing or very active. The beach, pool terrace, sauna and Jacuzzi offer a relaxing atmosphere while the sports centre is there should you want it. The apartments and bungalows on these Albufeira holidays are spacious enough to live in and the cooking facilities allow you to stick to a budget. The restaurant is available if you prefer though.

One criticism of the hotel is that it doesn’t offer a lot in the way of children’s entertainment and evening entertainment. It is only a short taxi ride into the heart of Albufeira though so most guests don’t find it a problem.
