A set of steps lead down to a private beach just for the exclusive use of the residents of the hotel, and the hotel itself is set in large grounds with outstanding views out over the ocean.

Location

The hotel is located in Santa Eulalia which is a 15-20 minute walk from the popular strip area of Albufeira. The Old Town is a taxi ride away however there are a number of pleasant fishing villages close by in the other direction. Not many cheap holidays in Albufeira offer the panoramic views that the Alfagar Apartments do however the surrounding area is a protected area of natural beauty and offers plenty of beautiful walks.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel offers all the facilities that you would expect to find on cheap holidays in Albufeira. These include two full size swimming pools and a children’s pool, tennis courts, a children’s adventure playground, a sun terrace with an adequate number of sun loungers and umbrellas and a small but well stocked supermarket.

Before watching one of the entertainment shows or walking into Albufeira for an evening on the town, people spending their Albufeira holidays in the Alfagar Apartments can also sample the bar and restaurant. The hotel also offers a games room and a kid’s club for youngsters. The reception is manned 24 hours and there is internet access should you require it during your Albufeira holidays. One thing that isn’t often seen on Albufeira holidays is a restaurant on the beach however the Alfagar Apartments provide one on the private beach area.

Room Facilities

Reviews of the rooms at the Alfagar apartments differ slightly depending on the type of room that is being reviewed. Some are quite basic, as you would expect from cheap holidays in Albufeira, however they are still adequately equipped and clean. Every room and apartment has en-suite facilities and most have a kitchen or kitchenette as well.

The apartments on these Albufeira holidays include a living room/dining room area that has a double sofa bed, table and chairs. In addition, there are both one or two bedrooms with twin beds and a wardrobe. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and cooking rings, a toaster, kettle and coffee machine, a fridge and a wide range of utensils, pots and pans. There is also satellite TV and each room has a balcony or a terrace. Some reviews mention that the balconies are quite small however others say they are adequate – they all say that they have great views of the pools, gardens and ocean though.

Bars and Restaurants

The restaurant at the Alfagar apartments has gained good reviews when compared to other Albufeira holidays. It serves three meals a day including breakfast however it is slightly more expensive than some of the local cafes and restaurants in Albufeira. Saying that the food is said to be top quality and the choice is good. There is an additional restaurant on the beach at the foot of the cliff and the supermarket is available should you want to eat in during your Albufeira holidays.

The bar on site serves a wide variety of drinks and is open into the night. There is occasional live entertainment including cabaret singers however this isn’t to everybody’s taste. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that runs into the town at night though and this caters for those who want alternative entertainment on their cheap holidays to Albufeira.

Overall Assessment

Albufeira holidays spent at the Alfagar Apartments are reported to be enjoyable and relaxing. The hotel is set in 9 hectares of beautiful gardens with quality views out over the ocean. The facilities at the hotel are suitable for couples and families and the choice of restaurants plus the apartment kitchens offer a good range of eating options. The hotel and the rooms are spacious and clean with all of the facilities you would expect to find.

The town is a 15 minute walk from the hotel with its cafes, bars, restaurants and shops however the walk is described as a bit hilly. The beach is very close to the hotel although you do need to take a set of steps down to and back up from the beach and these may not be suitable for people with mobility problems or for pushchairs.
